The 1X2 market
Football Match Odds has three selections: home win (1), draw (X) and away win (2). Each has a Back and a Lay price. Laying the draw, for example, means you win if either team wins.
How odds react in-play
When a team scores, its price shortens sharply and the draw and the other side drift. If you backed a team before kick-off and it takes the lead, you can lay it at the shorter price to guarantee a profit whatever happens next.
Markets suspend briefly at half-time. The Match Updates feed on the live scores page alerts you to goals, red cards, half-time and full-time.
